Skills Courses

We run a highly recommended 2 day Beginners Mountain Bike Skills Course aimed at those new to mountain biking or to those who may have so far only ridden non-technical ground and wish to learn the correct core skills and techniques of off-road riding.  In addition to riding skills, the course also involves a section on trail side bike repairs and effective preparation for off-road trips.

Group size is limited to a maximum of 6 people to ensure an optimised instructor / client ration although courses can be provided to much smaller groups or individuals.

Typical course content is as follows :

Day 1 :      Health & Safety and First Aid procedures.

                  Bike safety checks.

                  Fundamentals of off-road riding.

                  Specific skills coaching.

Basic bike repairs – theory and practical sessions on how to prevent a mechanical issue from spoiling a day out!

                  Equipment and clothing advice.

                  Further skills coaching.

Day 2 :     A full day´s ride to further develop the skills and techniques learnt during Day 1.

Summary & informal question and answer session.

Novice riders have greatly benefited from this course.  Other cyclists with slightly more experience have openly stated that they´ve left the course as better riders and feel better equipped to handle off-road terrain and to carry out basic bike repairs whilst out on the trail.

Our pricing structure for the 2-Day Beginners Skills Course is carefully designed to be attractive to groups of all sizes and indeed to individuals.

These prices include 2 full days of tuition as outlined above and hire of a quality mountain bike..
