Sep 272014

I´d like as usual to open this Autumn 2014 bulletin by thanking my clients for another great Spring and Summer season. It´s been a busy period and one during which I´ve met some wonderful people as well as having the pleasure of welcoming back some returning clients which is always very special for me.

Relocation to Valencia

This year has also been exciting as we relocated to the city of Valencia , a move that has added an extra dimension for our clients who wish to combine a break in this amazing city with some mountain biking in the surrounding sierras. Many of our clients have seized upon this and have enjoyed the “best of both Worlds”. The superb cross country trails of the Sierra de Calderona are (incredibly!) little more than 30 minutes drive from the heart of the city.

A New Rural Base

For those who are looking for either a twin-centre holiday or perhaps a more rural location, we have also recently developed a second operating area in the beautiful Sierra de Mariola Natural Park. Having a base in this stunning area has allowed us to offer this little known corner of Spain as a mountain biking destination.

Whilst been a “World away” from the popular coastal resorts of the Costa Blanca, the Sierra de Mariola lies less than an hour´s drive from Alicante airport. It´s an ideal destination for those looking to combine mountain biking with the rich history, culture, gastronomy and amazing natural spaces that this area has to offer.

Many of our clients take the opportunity to design bespoke trips with us that often include a few days of mountain biking plus free days during which they can relax or explore the area in which they´re staying. For those opting to stay in Valencia, this city has a huge variety of accommodation to suit all budgets and tastes.

For those wishing to stay in the Sierra de Mariola, we have pleasure in recommending some very special places that are owned and run by friends and colleagues of ours. These include the rural hotel El Masqi, ideal for those looking for a peaceful rural location and organic fine cuisine. Visit

For those who wish to be closer to a village centre whilst having the added flexibility of self-catering, we can recommend the beautiful Alqueria del Pilar. These self contained apartments are situated within a lovingly restored Valencian manor farmhouse.  Visit

Guided Mountain Biking & Skills Training

Our philosophy of not mixing groups and aiming to provide absolute best levels of personal service helps us to offer bespoke trips for our clients.  Something that has become increasingly popular over the past couple of years is a combination of guided cross country mountain biking with a strong element of off-road skills training.

Many of our clients have opted for this blend that often provides some lasting memories of biking through stunning scenery on great trails whilst providing skills and techniques that increase safety, confidence and enjoyment.

Trip Advisor

Finally, a word of thanks to all those who have kindly posted reviews on Trip Advisor. Thanks to your positive reviews, Mountain Biking Valencia has greatly improved its ranking and is now officially “Recommended”. This is a big help and one that I genuinely appreciate. Many thanks for your support.
Now that we have a base in both Valencia and the Sierra de Mariola, we´re well positioned to welcome those arriving at either Valencia or Alicante airport. Please feel free to contact us with your enquiries. I hope to see you soon and to enjoy some great mountain biking in Spain with you.
