This weekend I took a local biker out on the trails around the Barxeta Valley, Valencia. The route starts on easy rocky trails through a wooded valley then climbs over a small pass before dropping down to the Barxeta Valley.
There´s a superb section of extremely pretty single track through an old pine wood, then it´s onto rocky agricultural trails that have been used by local olive and fruit growers for decades.

We called at the lovely old village of Barxeta to enjoy a coffee in the square. This cheerful little place deserves some respect – in the past few years its endured wild-fires, flooding, and even a small earth quake!
The return leg took us through the lush fruit growing area of the upper Barxeta valley – nothing too technical, just undulating rocky trails. Perfect for an easy short Sunday morning outing, then back home for a paella!
