MountainBikingValencia is owned by Nature Trail Spain, a specialist active tourism company based in La Drova, a mountain village very close to the Mediterranean coast, 70km South of Valencia and 45km North of Denia. Our aim is to provide the visitor with an opportunity to make the very best of their time here by benefitting from our local knowledge and specialist professional services.

Our objective is simple…to provide our clients with a value-for-money service that is exactly tailored to their wishes and requirements. Whilst being able to provide a wealth of specialist knowledge, our style is first of all to listen to what the client actually wants, then to tailor our services to suit.

Our approach is what makes us different…

Our business model is unlike that of most professional guiding companies. Our approach is not simply to sell holidays purely dedicated to mountain biking. Instead, we provide our services on a much more flexible basis, giving the client the opportunity to design their own holiday.

For example, if you´d like a holiday with a group of friends that would comprise a full week of guided mountain bike tours, that can be easily arranged. Alternatively, if you are planning on spending some time in our area of Spain, and quite fancy a day or two biking as part of your holiday, that is just as easy to organise. Therefore, by being totally flexible and listening to your requirements, we can tailor our services to ensure that you gain maximum enjoyment without having to commit to a “biking only” holiday that may not suit all the members of your party or family.

Our pricing structure is competitive, great value and fair…

We wish to make our Guided Mountain Biking trips available to all. Therefore, our pricing structure is thoughtfully and carefully designed. It is purposely designed to afford maximum value across all group sizes. We clearly understand that not all parties will comprise 8 people so have endeavoured to structure our pricing to provide superb value for smaller groups, couples or even individuals whilst still offering fair and competitive rates for larger groups.

Should you require accommodation, you have the option of arranging it yourself, or alternatively should you prefer to have a single point of contact and book your accommodation and biking as a package, we are happy to arrange everything for you. Simply inform us of your requirements and we´ll respond with suitable options.

Who we are…

David Warrington is a keen outdoor enthusiast with a long experience of mountain biking, rock climbing, hill-walking, mountaineering and bird watching. He is a qualified and licensed Mountain Bike Instructor and professionally trained bike mechanic. He also holds a certificate in Wilderness First Aid and is fully affiliated to the Valencian Federation of Mountain Sports & Climbing.

On Saturday 6th April, we arranged a day of guided mountain biking for a couple from Valencia. This was part of a surprise weekend break, and included two nights at the rural guest house La Casona Ferrando in our home village of La Drova. Fernando and Vibrana were new to mountain biking so we opted for a beautiful route that passes through a wooded limestone gorge, not technical but sufficiently challenging to provide a great environment in which to learn some basic off-road techniques. After the usual safety briefing, we began with a gentle trail before taking on a steep descent into the valley. After a section of fairly level woodland trail we moved onto much rockier ground. Over the Easter weekend I had the pleasure of providing a mountain biking short break for a super couple from London. Samantha had arranged the trip as a surprise for her partner´s 30th birthday. They had chosen to stay at Casa Aldomar in the beautiful old town of Xativa. The first day was a relatively short ride of some 35km albeit with some quite steep climbing. This took us up into the Sierra de Marxuquera, along some gravel trails before descending into the Albaida valley for a coffee break in a farming village. We then took to some slightly more demanding trails to practice specific techniques for safe climbing and descending on loose, rocky terrain. On 28th March, we arranged a day of guided mountain biking for a Dutch couple who were taking a short break in the city of Valencia and wanted to make the most of the region´s beautiful mountains. They took the train from Valencia to Gandia, passing through the natural park and rice fields of Albufera along the way. We met in Gandia and made the short road journey to the start of the route in the La Safor mountains. Although both very active people, they were new to mountain biking, so the day commenced with a brief safety demonstration, and a little time well spent setting up the bikes to ensure maximum comfort.
